Crawl space repair & encapsulation in Trenton, NJ

Bouncy floors and a musty draft usually start in the crawl space. We shore up the framing underneath, seal the space against moisture, and dry it out so the floors above firm back up and the air upstairs improves.

What's happening down there

Damp air and tired supports.

A crawl space is dark, low, and easy to ignore until the floors above it start to feel it. Ground moisture and humid summer air soak into the wood, the posts and beams that carry the floor lose their footing, and the framing softens. That's the bounce and the slope you feel walking across the room.

We fix it in two parts. First we put proper support back under the floor — adjustable jacks and beams set on solid footings — to take out the sag. Then we seal the space against moisture with a vapor barrier or full encapsulation, so it stays dry, stops feeding humidity into the house, and doesn't undo the repair.

Crawl space questions

What is crawl space encapsulation?
Encapsulation seals the crawl space off from the damp ground and outside air with a heavy liner over the floor and walls, usually paired with a dehumidifier. It keeps moisture out so the wood framing stays dry and the space stops feeding humidity into the house above.
Will fixing the crawl space firm up my floors?
If the bounce comes from failing supports or moisture-weakened framing under the floor, then yes — adding proper support jacks and beams takes the sag out and stiffens the floor above. We check what's actually causing the movement before we quote it.
Vented or sealed crawl space — which is better?
In our humid summers, open vents often let damp air in rather than drying the space out. A sealed and encapsulated crawl space usually stays drier and more stable. We'll look at how yours is built and tell you what makes sense for your home.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes. Crawl space repairs and encapsulation come with a written warranty, and we go through the terms with your estimate.
